Conference Weekend . . . . . . .

Wow. Conference Weekend with an almost 3 year old is definitely different than before we had kids. Before, we watched conference, felt the spirit really strong, tried to stay awake in some of the afternoon session, and ate a lot of food. Now, we still feel the spirit, but it has to speak a lot louder, there's absolutely NO chance of us dozing off, and we still eat a lot of food. We ended up at my parents for this last conference and it was so much fun. Not only did we get to spend time with family, we also got some great instruction from our church leaders, ate some YUMMO! enchiladas, and had one unexpected surprise.

Miss All-Over-The-Place. This girl has SOOO much energy it's unbelievable!

One tiny girl and two great big dogs. By the way, notice how she has on her Disney Flip Flops. I CAN'T KEEP HER AWAY FROM THEM!

Our Fun Surprise. A little bit of gum in the hair. Right in front in the middle of her bangs. She was pretty upset about it and sat very still for the entire icing process. Luckily, we only had to cut out a small part. Ever since then she's been saying to me, "We don't swallow gum and we don't put it in our hair. Except at Grandma Annie's." Hmmmmm . . . . . Note to self: Don't give her gum at Grandma Annie's. :)

This is how her face was most of the time, but more serious. She was upset about it and wanted us to "fix" her pretty hair.

Little Manipulator . . . . .

Tonight Ava pottied in her pretty Minnie Mouse Panties. She was in her room going to bed and that's when it happened. (It's not like she hasn't done this before, this time just happened to be particularly funny). So, I know she's in her room, not asleep, but being suspiciously quiet. I go in the room and I catch her with her wet undies off and her pj's halfway back on. She looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Apparently she didn't have enough time to hide the evidence. Of course, I immediately ask her where the accident took place and she promptly shows me. She's good about that. Thank Goodness! I decide that putting on a "baby diaper" will make her feel bad enough. So I make her take off her pretty panties, put on a diaper and her pajamas, put her in bed, and begin removing all of her Tinkerbell, Little Mermaid, Minnie Mouse, and Dora undies from her top drawer. She's whimpering the whole time. I told her we needed to put them in the garbage because she was going to wear diapers from now on. This seriously about does her in. You would have thought I was putting her out on the street for the night. She starts crying and says in a panic, "Mom, I need to give you a hug and a kiss and say sorry right now!" I try not to laugh but tell her that I need to get all of her undies first. Her voice raises even higher. "Mom, I need to give you a hug and a kiss and say sorry right now!" I give in. I take off the diaper, put her in her big girl undies and let her give me a hug and a kiss and say sorry. She says, "Go put that diaper in Baby Kai's room." :) I told her that if it happens again, her fun undies would be all gone. I lay her down and tuck her in. She wraps her arms around my neck and says, "Don't be mad at Ava. I love you." Then as I'm walking out the door she says, "I see my cousins tomorrow right?" What a little stinker. She has to make sure that nothing else important to her is threatened. What a girl.

Random Fun . . . . . .

Randy and I went to the Jazz game a few days ago and it was really fun! Besides the fact that I felt like I was going to go into labor walking to and from the ESA, it was a fun night. We got to go with some friends to dinner and to the game and it was nice to have adult interaction. :) Here is a pic of us, which reminds me why I don't like to take pictures when I feel like I'm 58 weeks pregnant. (Really, I'm only 34, but that's how it feels). :)

We got to go the Aquarium with some friends last week and Ava had a blast! She has so many little friends that are boys, that when she gets around girls she is so girly! She was loving to hug Hailey and sit next to her. It was so cute!

Is it just me or to both girls look slightly annoyed that I was STILL taking pictures?

It's Summer! . . . . Wait, no it's not. :(

We went to St. George again last weekend with most of my mom's family. We got to watch my cousin Braden play in the sunshine tournament and he did awesome. Seriously, he made the all-tournament team, and, in my opinion, should have been the MVP. :) It was MUCH warmer than it was the last time we went and made me grateful that this baby is due in May and not the end of the summer. Ava got to swim, swim, swim which was the highlight for her. We did a lot of eating, birthday celebrating, and laughing. One of my favorite moments from the trip came at 4:30 on Sunday morning. I got woken out of a dead sleep by Ava LOUDLY whispering, "Mom, Come Here!" I walked over to where she was sleeping and she said, "I need to wake up!" I told her it was night-night time and we still needed to sleep. I thought she had fallen back to sleep, but about 10 minutes later, she LOUDLY whispered, "Mom, I'm all done with Night Night!" Well, it took another hour, but she eventually went back to sleep. It was too funny. Here are some pics from the weekend. Ava has obviously turned into a real ham. Notice her flip flops in the last picture. They are Minnie Mouse and she had to where them the whole weekend. We had a big fight yesterday when I wouldn't let her where them outside in the 35 degree wet and snowy weather. *sigh* I guess that's what I get for giving her a taste of wonderful spring and then shoving her back into miserable winter. :)

Hogle Zoo . . . . . .

We got to go to the zoo with Ava's friends last week and we had a BLAST! The weather was perfect and we saw a lot of animals up close. Ava has told EVERYBODY she knows about the "two big snakes", the "ONE bear" (just ask her, there weren't bears, there was just ONE bear), and the sleeping gorilla. (According to Ava it was very tired and needed a nap). :) We also got really close to the tiger which was a little scary and the Lynx cat was hissing at a lady in a power wheelchair which scared AND thrilled Ava. :) It was so much fun and we'll have to do it again soon!
